Dear Lord,
Thank you for sending our pastor to shepherd the church. I'm grateful for the love you put in the pastor's heart for You and Your people. I appreciate the unique set of gifts and talents that enrich the pastor's ministry and bless our church. Would You, in turn, bless the pastor today? Help the pastor to sense Your presence in such a sweet way. Fill the pastor up, Lord and use the pastor for Your glory today. And show me how I can support and encourage. Thanking You for this good leader, I pray this in Jesus' name.
Dear Lord,
My pastor's on the front line; an easy target for the enemy and his minions. My pastor's preaching the Word faithfully from the platform each week as a community leader, and a completely sold out servant to You. Dear Holy Spirit, empower the pastor this day to boldly proclaim the truth of Your Word. Help the pastor not to grow weary in well-doing or to fall away but provide grace upon grace. I'm thanking You in advance for what You will do in and through our pastor this very day, in Jesus' name.
Dear Father,
Thank you for a pastor that seeks You with a whole heart. The pastor's singular desire, Lord, is to serve and please You. So, Father, show the pastor the way. Give the pastor Your vision. Grant Your clarity. Make the complex simple. And then give the pastor boldness to step out in faith to accomplish Your plans for our ministry and for our church. It's easy to be distracted by many voices, so Father let the pastor hear but one voice, and let that voice be Yours. These things I pray with hope and expectation, in Jesus' name.
Father, help our pastor(s) to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings (Phil. 3:10). Since we know of their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love for all the saints, may we never stop giving thanks for them, always remembering them in our prayers. We will keep asking that You, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, will give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may know You better (Eph. 1:15-17).
Lord God Almighty, would You help our pastor(s) to humble themselves before You and under Your mighty hand, so that You will lift them up (Jas. 4:10; 1 Pet. 5:6)? Guide them in what is right and teach them Your way (Psa. 25:9). May our congregation see that they are wise and understanding as shown by their good lives, and by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom (Jas. 3:13). Father, You have said that the ones You esteem are those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at Your Word (Isa. 66:2). May our pastor be such a person!
Gracious Father, may our pastor's messages and preaching come to us, not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that our faith might not rest on the wisdom of man, but upon Your power (1 Cor. 2:4-5). Help them never to depend upon their own might or power, but always upon Your Spirit, Lord Almighty (Zech. 4:6). May You, the God of hope, fill our pastor(s) with all joy and peace as they trusts in you, so that they may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 15:13).
Loving Lord Jesus, we are so blessed to have the pastor that You have brought to our congregation. Thank You for him and his family. I pray that as he faithfully delivers Your Word to us all week by week he will be encouraged to know that he is fulfilling Your commission to go into all the world and teach the gospel, in a very special way.
Strengthen his walk with You Lord I pray, as he studies the Bible and prepares to deliver the truth of Scripture to all of us that gather week by week, to be fed from Your Word. And I pray that You would send him little encouragements from his congregation or other believers, with whom he comes in contact, as well as opening up the Scriptures more and more to his own understanding as we all seek to mature in the faith.
Thank You Lord for our dear pastor.
Amen.
Loving Lord, we thank You for our dear pastor and for the way that he has led and guided the little flock You have placed in his care with such wisdom and grace. Keep him Lord, under the shadow of Your wing, and protect him from the many arrows of the enemy that has sought to trip so many of the leaders in the Church today.
May his heart be kept focused on the Word of Truth, and may he love the Lord with all his whole body, soul and spirit as he seeks to encourage, edify and teach all those, that are under his guidance.
May he be a man after God's own heart, who continues to be nourished and fed by You to be Your under-shepherd, to point us to Christ. May he be used by You to be an example of a true disciple and lover of the Lord, not only in his public ministry but in the privacy of his own home.
Bless him Lord, keep him and protect him. May be continue to be an example of a godly man who by example, is growing in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
Thank You for our pastor,
Amen.
