Loving God, Creator of all things, you call us to be in relationship with you and others. Thank you for calling me to be a catechist, for the opportunity to share with others
what you have given to me. May all those with whom I share the gift of faith discover how you are present in all things. May they come to know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
May the grace of the Holy Spirit guide my heart and lips,
so that I may remain constant in loving and praising you. May I be a witness to the Gospel and a minister of your truth.
May all my words and actions reflect your love.
Amen.
Lord, Jesus, Divine Teacher,
Thank you for the special
opportunity
to share your Word and Life
with my students today.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit
and bless me and my efforts
to be a true witness
of your Presence to them.
Sanctify all that I say and do.
Let my catechetical instruction
today
bring my students into a closer
relationship with you in prayer,
knowledge, and grace.
Help me to proclaim your
Good News
with passion and conviction.
Show me the way to guide them
toward accepting you as their
personal Lord and Savior in
imitation of Mary and the saints.
Together, may we celebrate
your unconditional love
now and always.
Amen.
Father of all families, you have called me to serve the
family in truth and love as a catechist. May I be faithful
to this call, rooted in your Word, and open to the gifts
of the Holy Spirit.
May I use these gifts, especially the gifts of faith,
hope, and love, to serve the family as a witness to
you, who are love and life and the source and destiny
of all families.
Let your Spirit enlighten my mind and strengthen my
heart so that I can be a path of Christ's love to families,
especially those in need, the homebound and aged,
the disabled and disheartened.
Through the intercession of Mary and Joseph, I pray
for the Church, the Bride of Christ, whose mission to
build a civilization of love passes through the family.
Amen.
O God our Heavenly Father, you have given us the gift of these catechists to be
heralds of the Gospel to our parish family.
We lift them up to you in thanksgiving and intercede for them concerning their
hopes and needs.
May we be attentive to the presence of your Word in them, a Word that lifts up and
affirms, calls forth and challenges, is compassionate and consoles.
We pray that our parish family will always be blessed with those who have
responded to the call to share in Christ's prophetic mission as catechists. May we too
be open to the universal call to service that Christ addresses to all of his disciples,
contributing our gifts to the communion of faith, the Church.
We ask this in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Heavenly Father, you are the source of life and love.
Send down your Spirit upon these catechists. Inspire them to be not only teachers of your truth, but witnesses of your love.
Give them the courage to heal. Help them to see the pain of those around them so that they may offer hope through loving gestures of support and prayer. May they be merciful to others as you are merciful.
Give them the joy to proclaim the Good News of salvation. Help them see your will at work in their lives so that they may share it with others. May they, in their words and deeds, offer continual praise to the one who saves us.
Give them the wisdom to teach. Help them discover the mysteries of our faith in new and exciting ways. May their curiosity inspire those who they instruct to become your loyal disciples.
We pray to you, almighty Father, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ the Master-Teacher, the Healer, and the Savior, and in unity with the Holy Spirit who inspires us with knowledge, courage, and understanding.
Amen.
O Glorious Saint Joseph, foster father of Our Lord, guardian and teacher of the Young
Jesus, help us as we teach our children to grow in the love and truth of Jesus. Guide us so
that we will lead them in the right path to acknowledge the truth that Jesus teaches.
Amen.
O Blessed Saint Joseph, guardian of the Child Jesus, we pray that You will help us in our
daily troubles and tribulations as we try to pass on to our students all the teachings that
they need, to be able to succeed in their chosen professions. Help us to teach, and help them
to learn. Guide us all as thou didst guide Your most Holy foster son, Jesus. Obtain for us
the graces we need, not only to teach and to learn, but to stay on the path shown by the
Light of Christ.
Amen.
O Blessed Saint Joseph guide me every minute of today as I teach my students. Intercede
for me so that I may provide them with all the knowledge they require.
Amen.
O Blessed St. Joseph, please be with me this day. Guide me through my lessons. Make
every act and word I present to my students blessed through Your intercession. Obtain for
me patience, love, and understanding when dealing with problems in the classroom. O St.
Joseph, help me to become the best possible teacher that I can be. For this reason, I take
thee as my patron. You who taught Your son, Our Savior, while on this earth. St. Joseph,
foster father of the Sacred Heart, pray for us.
Amen
