Jesus,
This is a stressful season, and I'm overwhelmed by the mountain of work ahead of me, yet I trust in you. I know that when I put my faith in you, even when it's as small as a mustard seed (Luke 17:6), miracles can be accomplished. I pray that as I study in these coming weeks, as I soak up knowledge and memorize facts, as I read and process and write, that you would be renewing my mind and strengthening my spirit. Help me to persevere through the massive to-do lists and the busy schedules, and help me to keep my eyes fixed on you throughout it all.
As I enter my classrooms and exam rooms, I pray you would blanket me in your peace. Ease any anxieties, calm my restless mind, and give me focus on the task at hand. I pray that I would know my worth is in you alone, not in any grade I do or do not make, not in any assignment or test or teacher's opinion. I pray that I would fear your presence during my exams, and that I would be comforted by your nearness.
Thank you for the gift of this education, Jesus. I pray that these final exams would be a celebration of all I have learned in this season, and that I would be grateful for all that I have experienced and for all the ways I have grown.
May you be glorified, Lord.
Amen.
Good morning, Lord! Today's a new day, a chance for a new start. Yesterday is gone and with it any regrets, mistakes, or failures I may have experienced. It's a good day to be glad and give thanks, and I do, Lord. Thank you for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that you want me to be.
Today I want to start the day with you on my mind and in my heart. As I dress, let me wear the armor you've provided daily: the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, and the sword of the spirit—with prayer on my tongue: praise for you and petitions for those around me and those I meet.
Feed me today with your daily bread. As the Bread of Life, your food, like manna, will sustain me throughout any trials and hungers. Help me to set my thoughts on things above and to speak only what will help and encourage others. Keep me from putting my foot in my mouth, and help me guard the affections of my heart today, Lord. Make whatever work I do be marked with excellence rather than perfectionism, as I seek not to make a name, but to make a difference. Help me to treat each person I encounter as you would, with respect and love, forgiving others and asking for forgiveness myself when needed.
As I start this day, help me remember that I belong to you, and my desire is to act accordingly. Keep my feet from stumbling and my mind from wandering into distractions that could steal precious time and energy from the most important things you have designed for me. I'm proud to be your child, Lord. And I'm so grateful that you died for me—rising again on your own new morning—so that every day could be filled with the wonder of your love, the freedom of your Spirit, and the joy of knowing you.
I know earthly life is short and fleeting, Lord. But I want to live today as if it were the first or the last day of my life, giving thanks for every good and perfect gift you choose to give. Today, and every day, I want to live my life for you, Jesus. In your precious name, Amen.
Lord, thank you that you are with me right now Your love surpasses all fear I give you the anxiety I feel I surrender all my worries to you Clear my mind Calm my heart Still my Spirit Relax my being That I may always glorify you In everything I write, speak and do.
Father,
Be with me as I take this exam.
Keep my mind alert and my memory sharp.
Calm my nerves and help me concentrate.
I know that you walk with me,
Guiding my path and inspiring my heart.
I pray that I would feel you with me,
And that your friendship would soften the pressure I feel.
I pray that I would pass this exam and go on to new things with you.
Thank you for your peace and your love in my life.
Thank you for your kindness and care for me.
Amen.
Majestic Father, we thank You for our college students. Thank You for giving us the ability to learn and process
information. We thank You for blessing us as we take our Final Exams. Thank You for crowning us with wisdom
and honor. O God, You are our God; we earnestly search for You. We will praise You as long as we live. We
will lift up our hands to You in prayer. You satisfy us more than the richest feast. With songs of joy will we praise
You.
Royal Father, as students, we confess that we are well versed in every area of learning; gifted with knowledge
and good judgment. Just as You anointed Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego with an unusual aptitude
for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom, that You have anoint us to excel to conquer our Final
Exams. We understand the value of knowledge; we understand that wisdom is more profitable than silver and
her wages are better than gold. Therefore, we confess that they will not be anxious about these exams, but we
will pray and tell You what we need. They will thank You for all that You have done for us; then we will experience
Your peace which exceeds anything we can understand. We declare that we can do everything through Christ,
including excelling on these Final Exams, because You give us strength. We expect that as we study and apply
ourselves, that Holy Spirit, You will bring all things to our remembrance when they sit down to begin our Final
Exams. We decree that we are the head and not the tail; we will always be on top and will never be at the bottom
academically!
Holy Spirit, please help us to hunger and thirst after knowledge. Help them to shed every false label, expectation
and preconceived notion that society has placed upon us. Help us to see ourselves as more than conquerors in
every aspect of our lives. Holy Spirit, please encourage and help our parents and guardians as they support us
financially and pay our tuition. Please open new revenue streams for our parents. Lead and guide us to
scholarship and grant opportunities to help pay for our educational expenses.
Loving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive our parents and guardians for being negligent in
teaching us to first reverence You which is the beginning of wisdom. Forgive us our nation for not being more
insistent on quality education in our school systems. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for
me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Awesome Lord, Your right hand is glorious in power. Your right hand smashes the enemy. In the greatness of
Your majesty, You overthrow those who rise against You. You unleash Your blazing fury; it consumes them like
straw. Who is like You among the gods, glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?
You are God alone! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Grant, O merciful God, that I may
ardently desire,
prudently examine,
truthfully acknowledge,
and perfectly accomplish
what is pleasing to You,
for the praise and glory of Your Name. Amen.
God of Wisdom, I thank you for the knowledge gained and the learning experiences of the semester. I come to you this day and ask you to illuminate my mind and heart. Let your Spirit be with me as I prepare for exams, guiding my studies, and giving me insight so that I can perform to the best of my ability. Please grant me the strength to handle the pressure during these final days of the semester, the confidence to feel secure in my knowledge, and the ability to keep an appropriate perspective through it all. Help me to keep in mind what is truly important, even as I focus my time and energy on these tests in the immediate future. Finally, may I sense your peace in knowing that I applied myself to the challenges of this day.”
-Amen
