Lord God, we thank you and praise you for the glorious light of your spirit in the world. We rejoice in your call to serve in this ministry of health care. Be with us in our labors. Fill us with joy as we extend our hands in love. Let our light shine in the name of your son, Jesus, our brother in healing. Amen.
Holy God, my Father, thank You for the many blessings that our local community has. I pray for those who are in the offices that govern this community and county and that they make wise and godly decisions which are always in the best interests of the community. I am glad that we have the freedom to speak up and vote for those who oppose our set of values. Even if I differ from these leaders, I pray for them to be blessed by You God and also those who are in law enforcement. Please protect them in their line of duty so that they might protect those of us who have placed our trust in them. God, please bless these men and women in city government, the mayor's office, the commission, and all elected officials and certainly those who put themselves in harm's way like law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS workers. I am so thankful we have all of these and in Jesus' precious name I pray, amen.
Father God, please protect our citizens in our community and those in the surrounding neighborhoods. I know that You have provided Your own rod of correction for our community through the local law enforcement agencies that You have sovereignly placed here and so protect us and so help us to protect our own neighborhoods too and to watch out for the interests of others (Phil 2:4). For those of us who have trusted in You O God, we know You are our protector and defender, and that ultimately I have no need to fear what anyone can do to me (Matt 10:28; Heb 13:6). Help me to depend on You in all circumstances and to know that nothing happens outside of Your divine will in my life because it's always in my best interests (Rom 8:28) and so thank You for giving us these men and women in authority for our protection for I know that they are those who wield the sword for the You (Rom 13) and so I ask You to bless them and protect them as well as my own family and friends and in Jesus' strong name I pray, amen.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
May Christ be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
In the mouth of each who speaks to me.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield:
Christ beside me
on my left and my right. AMEN
The Lord bless you and watch over you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord look kindly on you and give you peace. AMEN
Father, thank you for the opportunity to work. Thank you for providing a way for bills to be paid and for food to be on the table. God, as I work today, help me to remember I work for you. Help me to prioritize my tasks. Partner with me as I field phone calls, solve problems, and collaborate with co-workers. Create in me a heart that works with honesty, patience, and integrity. Let people see you when they see me at work. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thank you, God, for the body of believers who are called to serve you, who are proclaiming the Good News to all who will hear. From those who minister across the country to the men, women, and youth here at home, send us out to be a light in the dark. Send us out to speak life. Send us out to extend grace and mercy. Send us out to feed the hungry, to befriend the lonely, to find the lost. Open the doors of this church and fill it with the broken, the angry, the hurting. Let them find forgiveness and comfort here in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I thank you, Lord, that I live in the land of the free because of the brave. What freedom and privilege I enjoy each day without fear of persecution. Raise up God-fearing men and women to serve in state and local government. Promote those who are in right standing with you. Appoint the righteous to represent your people. Holy Spirit, speak to the leaders of this country. Instruct our heads of state. May their will bend to the influence of the Holy Spirit. May they serve with pure hearts and right motives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
So whether you are loving on orphans in a devastated country, bringing soup to a sick neighbor, or kneeling in your prayer closet, you make a difference for the kingdom of God.
