Lord, I pray for your peace to rule richly in my marriage and in my home. You said in your Word that the peace you give passes all understanding. I receive that peace right now. I choose to let the peace of Christ rest in my heart. As the peace of Christ rest in my heart, it will extend to my marriage.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for this beautiful day. You have fulfilled the desire of our hearts to be together in this life.
We pray that your blessing will always rest upon our home; that joy, peace and contentment would dwell within us as we live together in unity, and that all who enter our home may experience the strength of your love.
Father, help us to follow and serve you with an ever growing commitment because of our union. Guide us into greater love and sacrifice as we care for each other's needs, knowing you will care for us.
May we always be as keenly aware of your presence as we sense it today on our wedding day. And may our devotion in marriage be a radiant reflection of your love for us. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray.
Amen.
Heavenly Father we come before you to thank you for all you have done and continue to do in our lives and marriage. We come before you today, God, asking for a stronger bond of unity in our marriage covenant.
Father we ask that you will give us the ability to be a united front for you letting nothing come between us.
Help us, Father to identify and work through anything that is not pleasing to you so we can continually reach higher levels of unity in our marriage – spiritually, physically, and mentally.
We are thankful and excited to see the work of your hand as we do our best to seek your face daily. We love you and thank you for all of these things.
Lord, help us to remember when we first met and the strong love that grew between us. Help us love in practical ways so that nothing can divide us. May our words be kind and our thoughts gracious. May we remain humble enough to ask for forgiveness and wise enough to freely give.
Help us Father, to patiently endure tests of our faith and resist temptations that could hurt our marriage. God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12) Give us your Spirit to protect and persevere us through temptations. Help us keep you and your will for us always in our hearts and minds.
Help us, Father, to see all of our trials as opportunities to rejoice and trust in you. In your Word we read, "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy." That sounds so hard! Lord, help us see what that might look like in our lives. Help us have your perspective when trials come — to know that our suffering is an opportunity to depend on you and for you to show up in our lives.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for a deeper understanding of each other. We've been together for a while, but we're two different people who do things in two different ways. And so we ask that You'd give us the strength to be flexible when we need to be, and give us the patience to handle our emotions wisely.
Help us to be good listeners who are sensitive to the needs of each other.
May our differences sharpen each other to grow stronger in faith, and challenge each other to consider new things.
Bind us together in unity, and use our differences to strengthen that bond.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please bless our marriage with an abundance of joy. We started off strong, and it's our deepest desire that we finish that way.
Some couples go through life barely communicating, hardly enjoying each other's company, and missing out on the many blessings that marriage can bring.
We want more for our marriage. We want to be able to laugh together and to enjoy this journey we're on. Remind us to look for joy and to choose it over our sorrow. As long as we're living, may we always find a reason to smile.
In the name of Jesus we pray.
Amen.
