Heavenly Father, You have called us to pray for our enemies and all those that seek to do us harm, and not to heap up unforgiveness or resentments in our heart, and so Lord I want to bring before You all those people in my life who have become enemies of my soul, and to ask for Your grace, favour and forgiveness to be poured out on them. Lord, I pray that You would convict each one of their need of Jesus as their Saviour.
Lord, I know that it is not Your will that anyone should perish but that all should come to salvation in Jesus Christ, and so I bring all those people in my life that have sought to do me evil or inflicted harm on me, whether intentionally or unwittingly, to Your merciful throne of grace to plead forgiveness and to ask mercy on their souls.
Lord, for Your holy names sake, I pray that You would draw close to each. Open their eyes to the truth of the gospel of grace I pray, and bring each one into a saving faith on the Lord Jesus. Draw them with Your cords of loving forgiveness into Your family. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Loving Father, thank You for the example of Jesus Who cried, Father forgive on the cross. Help me to be one that freely and willingly prays forgiveness over those who are my enemies, and those who, for whatever reason, dislike or try to harm me.
Lord, I thank You that even the people in our lives who despise and ill-use us have a divine purpose in Your perfect plan, in that it drives us back into Your arms of love. From here, we can lift them up to Your throne of grace in prayer, asking for their forgiveness and salvation and releasing in us any pent-up hatred or bitterness that is so damaging to our souls and well-being.
Forgive my enemies Lord, and all those who have tried to hurt or harmed me. Look down in pity on all those who I term ‘enemies' and give me the grace to show them the love of Christ in my actions and attitudes towards them. Keep my thoughts from becoming resentful or seeking revenge, but rather release in my heart the peace that only comes from casting all my cares on You, including my enemies.
Give me the grace, not only to truly forgive all my enemies but also to bless those who persecute me, for in so doing I see a dim reflection of Your enormous grace towards me, for which I praise and thank You. In Jesus' blessed name,
Amen.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You that You are our precious Price of Peace and our perfect example. Thank You that we have Your peace in our hearts and for the understanding that without You there is no perfect peace in this world of strife. Lord, there are many people today who do not know You and who seek to destroy those that are Your children, but Lord You have commanded us to love our enemies, to bless those that curse us, to do good to those who hate us and to pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us.
Lord, we lay before Your throne of grace the many individuals and groups that openly seek to kill and persecute our Christian brothers and sisters. We pray for each one and lay each soul at Your feet, asking for Your mercy to rest on each of them. Look down in pity on those who are openly aggressive toward Christians for they have been blinded to the truth of the glorious gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord. Open their eyes we pray, and bring them to a saving faith in Jesus.
Lord, we ask Your blessing and mercy on each one for we too were once a stranger to the truth and at enmity against You, but You lifted us up out of the miry clay and set our feet on the rock of our salvation. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Dear God,
Help me to accept and acknowledge that Satan is my true enemy and not those around me. When I am wronged unjustly, help me to relinquish my right to hold another person responsible for the wrong they have caused me. Lord, may I remember the truth of your word in Psalms 135:14 that says you will vindicate me. Even though I am tempted to repay evil for evil, please help me to choose to fight my battles on my knees: believing that my struggle is not with another human being but with the devil and my own flesh. Grow me in Christ-like character and help me to become a woman who possess the fruit of the spirit. May I become a woman who is mature, wise, and has a sound mind.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Lord Jesus, following Your example and command, we pray for our enemies today. We ask first that You would saturate our lives with the Holy Spirit's power and might. Send Your love flowing through us, and forgive us for holding on to anything that could hinder our prayers. We release any unforgiveness, thoughts of revenge, or hateful emotions that can quench Your Spirit in our hearts. Then give us wisdom as we seek how to bless, to love, and to pray for our enemies.
We pray for you to bless our enemies and to orchestrate events in their lives that will leave their hearts exposed before you. As You characterized blessing in the Beatitudes, we pray that You would give them a poverty of spirit that recognizes their deep need for You. We pray they will discover Your comfort in times of mourning, and they would be humbled before You—in Your way and Your time. We pray You would show them mercy before it is too late—knowing we were all God's enemies before You extended mercy to us—and that they would, in turn, be merciful to others.
Lord, we pray that instead of lusting for pure evil, they would hunger and thirst for Your purity and righteousness, become advocates of Your justice and that their warring spirits would be changed into peacemaking. Remove the façade of well-being; tear down the lies that have deceived them; and hedge their ways until they can see no way out but up. We pray You would show them the futility of what they are doing because in opposing God's kingdom and in their darkness, they are often oblivious about the true reasons for their behavior and resulting consequences. Reveal to them any deep hurts or traumas in their own lives that may be contributing to their destructive actions.
Knowing how you sometimes use pain and difficulty to bring blessing to our lives, we pray the same for our enemies. Use whatever means You need to soften stony hearts, open blind eyes, and to help them realize their ultimate neediness for You. If necessary, allow persecution in their own lives so they can experience Your blessing. Speak to them in miraculous, supernatural ways if necessary, through a dream, a movie, another believer, Your Word—or even through our own lives if we are ever confronted. In some way, let them witness Your power and recognize that You are the source. We pray for conviction, for an honest evaluation of their own destiny, and for a sense of desperation if that's what it takes for them to consider Your claims and to discover Who You really are. Pursue them, even allowing goodness to lead them to repentance. And give us patience and a deep trust in You, Lord, even when we can't see any change in our enemies. When we waver, not wanting to pray for our enemies, help us to remember Your grace in our own lives, and what we would be without You.
Great God, my Father, I need to learn to trust in You and rely on You in everything, including when the fiery darts of the enemy come flying my way. I know that you never forsake us (Heb 13:5) and that I can confidently say that You are my helper and so I will not fear what any man can do to me (Heb 13:6) but the invisible enemy is much harder to deal with God. Please help me to be grounded in Your Word and don't rely on my own strength but rely on You, the Solid Rock of my salvation through Jesus Christ my Lord in whose name I pray, amen.
Great God, high and lifted up, I want to be in a close, intimate relationship with You today so that I can participate in the will that You have for my life today. Help me to recognize the enemy when he comes and to resist the urge to drift from Your precepts and laws. I know that if I have unconfessed sing that my fellowship with You can be harmed and so help me to be led by the Spirit of God and do what is pleasing in Your sight and care not about what the world thinks of the way I live. I want to have Christ be seen in me, not the enemy or carnal side of my nature. I know my heart's deceitful and wicked (Jer 17:9) so help me to recognize when I am doing things that are not pleasing to You and in the name of the King of kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
You tell me, Father, that if I submit to You, the Devil must flee (James 4:7) but sometimes I know I don't submit to You and I realized that this leaves a door open for the enemy. When I am not submitting to You Father, I am submitting to my own flesh, the world, or to the Devil or his demons. I know it's Your will to have me resist temptation and that by doing so, I can avoid giving in to that temptation and so please, I pray, protect me from the evil influences today that will most certainly come my way today and to understand that anything that doesn't feel right might be a lie from the father of lies, Satan and so I am praying to help me resist temptation so that I might not sin and live a life that glorifies You and in Jesus beloved and most precious name I pray, amen.
