God of peace, my heart is heavy and filled with sadness. I spend so much time thinking, planning and worrying about my life. Help me to trust you when everything seems a mess. Can you lead me to make decisions that will help me, can you guide and help me I ask to direct my steps. Amen.
God, open my eyes to see you.
God, open my ears that I could hear you as I cry, when I am hungry, when I am scared and when I feel beaten.
God, open my heart to you and to others, to receive help and support and love.
Give me strength to endure. Amen
Father Lord, I feel like a million tonnes of weight is hanging over my head right now.
I feel exhausted, stressed and overwhelmed, even though I have just woken up.
Lord, I need you now more than ever. I can no longer pretend I can help myself alone.
Lord, help me safely anchor myself to you.
Help me recognise and accept your divine help when I see it today. Amen.
God of infinite mercy, hear our prayer!
In this time of bewilderment and fear, we ask you to give us the courage to take care of one another as Jesus did. For those who are ill, especially those who are frightened and alone, for those who cannot access healthcare, for those who are homeless and lost, hear our prayer!
In the midst of our sadness and grief, we ask you to give us words to comfort one another. For those who are dying, and for those who have already died from this virus, for those who tend them and for those with no one to tend them, hear our prayer!
In the midst of our own anxiety we ask you to give us the courage to support one another as you would. For those who are unexpectedly unemployed, for employers who share what they can, for our government and financial institutions and those who lead them, hear our prayer!
In the midst of our struggle to ensure a healthy future for all who live on this planet, we ask you to give us the hope that surpasses our current understanding. For healthcare workers, spiritual leaders and our faith communities, for artists and poets, for prophets and teachers, hear our prayer!
In the midst of our growing awareness that all life on Earth is connected, we ask for the heart to respect and cherish all life. That all peoples recognize that we are all your children, hear our prayer!
We trust in you and your power working in us. Please hear and answer our prayers.
Amen!
Amen!
Thank you for being such a good Father and always knowing what is best. Thank you for your promise to lead us to peaceful waters even in this valley of uncertainty. Help me to tune in to your voice during this season so that I can follow you moment by moment to those peaceful places where I can experience your peace and find relief from anxious thoughts.
Thank you that despite all the uncertainty that surrounds me, you are faithful and true, and in control. Help me to trust an uncertain future into your strong and loving hands. Yes, help me to trust you with all my heart and not be afraid.
Mostly, help me to remain hopeful and positive while I wait on you to eradicate this virus and restore joy to the world. Amen.
Heavenly Father –
We thank you for the gifts and blessings you continue to bestow on us despite our current challenges. We come to You with our anxiousness and concern during these uncertain times.
We pray for all those who are sick and stricken by illness. We pray for all those caring for those who are sick, and we ask that you deepen our human understanding to gain further insight into the coronavirus and all disease that afflicts us.
You are the Great Healer. We place our trust in You. We pray for Your healing Spirit to comfort all those that suffer. Bring peace and calm resolve to our world and in our homes. Let this time be an opportunity to draw us closer to one another in our common humanity and frailty. Let us not place our individual needs above another as we strive to love as You loved us first.
We pray all these things, and we bring all our fears before You, our Great Counselor and Redeemer,
in Christ our Lord – Amen!
Heavenly Father, may this passage be true of me, of us. May we fully love as You have fully loved. May our hearts gravitate toward Your goodness and not evil or destructive things. May we love and honor others before ourselves. May they love everyone, always as You do. Help them to never lose their spiritual fervor to serve You above everything. May their time with You and in Your Word be the fuel for this passion. May those around them see You more and more clearly as they serve You with all of their heart.
Lord, we pray for our resilient disciple makers. We lift them up in prayer as they come to the end of a season. As Paul exhorted Timothy, we pray for them to continue to be ready in and out of season. We pray for their spirit to be awake and alert as the cultural onslaught continues to batter away at them and the children they minister to daily. We pray for them as they endure suffering. This world has many troubles; but You, Father, have overcome them. As our leaders live a life chasing after You in this already, but not yet space … give them mercy and grace in their daily suffering. Lord, help them continue to be faithful with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Help them fulfill their ministry as they boldly and bravely share the Good News with everyone in their reach of ministry. Lord, help each leader finish well and also begin a new thing in each of them. Thank You, Jesus, for teaching us what it means to be a servant-leader! And I thank You for all of Your servants that suffer and toil for the sake of You and Your Kingdom!
