Dear Heavenly Father, how I thank and praise you for the young men and women who have trusted in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, and I ask that You would work in the lives of all young people who have stepped out in faith in the Son of God.
Draw ever closer to those who have made a commitment to You. May they grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus in the days that lie ahead. May they learn to walk in spirit and truth and to trust in Your Word, knowing that Your grace in sufficient for all their needs and requirements.
Keep them I pray, from being influenced by the tempting things of the world, and the desires of the sin nature, and protect them from the wiles of the enemy who would seek to disrupt their walk with You.
Give them grace and wisdom as they face the challenges of life, and keep them humble in heart and teachable in spirit. May they learn to look to Jesus day by day knowing that without Him they can do nothing but in His strength He will lead and guide in all things. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
We offer to you, Loving God, the gifts and needs of youth.
Bless them with your guiding grace as they face the challenges and opportunities in their lives.
Touch their hearts with the gentleness of your love, that they may know they are valued and valuable beings.
Send your spirit of hope to their lives, that they may believe in themselves and know they are needed in this world.
Grace them with the gift of joy that they may celebrate life through laughter and tears alike.
Guide us, as we continue to grow in appreciation of the many gifts of young people, in the ministry opportunities we offer to them, in the journey of faith we walk with them, in our shared mission as a community called to discipleship in the world.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Our Father,
You are so wonderful and we worship you.
You are the source of a river of love and grace that transforms the world.
We offer you our young hearts, minds and bodies.
Help us to grow in the goodness of your kingdom.
May we shine out in times of darkness,
Stand safely upon the truth and not be shaken,
And see your vision for the world and follow you.
Come use our energy to care for the lost.
Come take our creativity to meet with the brokenhearted,
Come use our youthfulness to bring joy and peace,
And your hope to bring light to everyone.
Amen.
Dear Lord,
help our young people to find
faith in the midst of the chaos.
Give them the desire and ability
to see you,
hear you,
talk to you,
and give thanks to you.
We pray that they will draw nearer and nearer to you
all their lives.
Amen.
Lead in truth, O Christ, the young people of the parish.
Let them not be attracted by new idols, such as consumerism, well-being at any cost, moral permissiveness, violent protest, but let them live your message with joy,
which is the message of the beatitudes,
the message of love for God and for one's neighbor,
the message of moral commitment to the genuine transformation of society.
Lord God, I pray for my teenage son or daughter to know your goodness and provision. I pray they would place their identity in you. I ask that in the pressures of life, they would know you are their rock on which they can stand. I pray that through the challenges of school life, exams, and future decisions, you would lead them, guide them and bring them comfort. In Jesus' name, Amen
Turn your loving gaze, O God, upon young people.
They carry in their hearts a great hope:
make them strong and pure,
so that they can build their tomorrow with confidence.
Let them receive freely the gift of the faith,
accept it with gratitude,
and develop it with generosity.
Mother of Christ, and our Mother,
help them to be now and forever faithful
to Christ and the Church.
Amen.
Come Holy Spirit of Youth,
fill the hearts of young people
with the hope and love of Jesus Christ;
enliven our parish
with the creativity, energy, and joy of youth;
guide us together
as we strive to offer God's mercy
to those who feel abandoned or outcast.
